Booking OBJ for Events

Morris Dancing is a hobby rather than a profession, so our main interest is enjoying ourselves and showcasing what we do. As we all have families, jobs and other interests, there is a practical limit to the amount of time we can devote to it. We are not motivated, like professional entertainers, to "grow our business" by accepting more bookings, and we cannot respond instantly to confirm whether we are available.

So, we prioritise requests for our time this way:

Note that a morris team usually comprises 15-20 dancers and musicians, and a commercial fee would need to cover their time (at least minimum wage), travel, and various overheads.

If you are organising a local event, please consider whether you and your colleagues might enjoy morris dancing, and choose to become members. It would increase your priority!!!

Cancellations:

We do not charge deposits on bookings, and normally expect to be paid upon completion.

If we accept a booking for an event we will make a reasonable effort to fulfil it. But, we are dependent on our members being able to attend, and if a number of them become unavailable due to illness, injury, family or health issues, we may have to cancel. If this happens we will give you as much notice as possible.

If you cancel a booking and give us notice before the day of the event, that will be OK.

If we attend an event but are unable to perform due to bad weather or other circumstances beyond our control, we would expect to be paid.
