OBJ Morris - 2018 Scrapbook

Swanage Folk Festival
8-9th September 2018

Another excellent Swanage Folk Festival.

The weather started off a little overcast, and generally improved. I vaguely recall a couple of drops of rain at a time when it just didn't matter

OBJ comprised: Alison, Andy, Ann, Chris, Clare, Claudia, Colin, Eddie, Giles, Helen, Ian, Joe, Kelly, Linda, Mark, MaryAnn, Mike, Phil, Tony and Trish with help from Ian and Emma, Andy and grandchildren, Chris from Borderline, Marlings Trombone Man, Freya, and many more!

Saturday morning on the sea front.

Thing seemed to take a while getting started. A bit of last-minute instruction to the musicians, then we're off and running with a Hay-one-Wye

Later on, near the Mowlem Building

The train to Corfe Castle

I think there was probably a spot at The Red Lion, then it was time to take the train up to Corfe Castle with Borderline

Ian, Emma and Sam came with us - here's Ian joining a dance

Then all too soon, it was back on the train for the usual music and Guards Van dances

Sunday at The Mowlem

The Sunday turned out well. Here we are, back at the Mowlem.

The first two pictures are from a White Ladies Aston, then the rest are from Brimfield

Sunday on the Sea Front

Later in the day, we were dancing somewhere along the sea front, and joined by Freya and various grandchildren, nieces etc

All of them were little stars, especially the little dancing queen in the stripey dress. Freya, from our B&B, received a bit of instruction in melodeon-playing from Joe - we always stay at the brilliant Millbrook Bed & Breakfast

Sunday fternoon - The massed dancing

Then it was time to form up for the massed Worcestershire Monkey.

Somewhere in the melee were OBJ, Wicket Brood, Borderline, Fox's, Exmoor, Phoenix and probably a few I've missed

Sunday - Aquatic Dancing

And finally, it was into the sea for "Tide" and a few other dances, joined by Freya and some from Borderline
