Fleet Morris 40th Birthday on the Basingstoke Canal

We were invited, along with Mayflower Morris, to join Fleet Morris for their 40th birthday celebration on the Basingstoke Canal

It was a trip down memory lane as we made our way to the canal at Odiham to board the "John Pinkerton II" - in exactly the same location as we found her/him/it on 20th May 2000. Amongst our guests 25 years ago, were Fleet Morris!

There were quizzes to keep us amused during the voyage, dancing at the Barley Mow, a few Kingfisher sightings, and music all the way.

OBJ comprised: Ann, Christine, Christopher, Claire, Claudia, Colin, Eddie, Hazel, Joe, Peter, Ralph, RichardH, Sarah, Sophia and Tony

And there was plenty of time for a natter and a snooze as we watched Hampshire go by.
It's a lovely canal Unfortunately the water level was still too low to enter the stretch between Odiham and Greywell, which is even more  picturesque.  Maybe next time!
