This years coppicing session was at Dinton Pastures Country
Park. The aim is to gather hazel wood, and prepare it for
seasoning during the coming year. After seasoning it will be used
for making sticks in 2027-2028.
This was the same area where we held our first coppicing session 20-odd
years ago, so there were plenty of hazel stools to harvest.
Afterwards, we made some deer fences to discourage the local wildlife from
eating the new shoots that would start growing in the spring.
